Description

The Fort ECSPPIR is a wireless PIR motion sensor designed for ESP Fort Smart Alarm systems, detecting movement via passive infrared across a typical 10-12m range when wall-mounted at 2-2.4m height. The 123mm-tall white sensor communicates wirelessly with the alarm hub, removing the need for cabling between the sensor and control panel.

Intended for residential and small commercial installation, the sensor mounts on internal walls in hallways, living areas, and zones requiring motion detection when the alarm system is armed. The unit includes pet immunity settings that reduce false alarms from animals below a certain weight threshold, though exact thresholds depend on the Fort system configuration. The wireless design allows installation anywhere within radio range of the hub without requiring mains power or cable runs behind plasterboard.

The sensor runs on batteries (type and life depend on usage frequency and transmission intervals — see manual for specifics) and sends low-battery alerts to the alarm hub when replacement is needed. The compact 67mm x 40mm footprint and white finish allow discreet mounting on most internal wall surfaces. A single LED indicator at the top of the unit confirms sensor status during installation and testing.

Frequently Asked

Is this compatible with other alarm brands?

No. The ECSPPIR is designed specifically for ESP Fort Smart Alarm systems and uses proprietary wireless protocols to communicate with the Fort hub. It will not function with third-party alarm panels.

What batteries does it take and how long do they last?

Battery type and typical lifespan are listed in the product manual. The sensor sends low-battery alerts to the alarm hub when replacement is needed, typically several weeks before the batteries fail completely.

Does it work with pets in the house?

The sensor includes pet immunity settings that reduce false alarms from animals below a configurable weight threshold. Exact thresholds and configuration steps are covered in the Fort system setup guide and the sensor manual.

What height should it be mounted at?

For optimal detection range, mount the sensor on an internal wall at 2-2.4m height, angled slightly downward to cover the floor area. Avoid positioning it directly opposite heat sources or in direct sunlight, as these can cause false triggers.
