Florinda Striped Wooden Framed Print - Multi

Florinda is a framed print with a painterly still life: a bunch of five round flowers on slender stems, standing in a striped vase against a background of broad horizontal stripes, with a solid lower band that reads as the tabletop. The brushwork is loose and visible, so the motif keeps the feel of a painting rather than a flat graphic. It is a multicoloured piece, made from fir wood and MDF, and it measures 50cm across and 70cm tall, with a depth of 3cm. That portrait format is a generous size for wall art: large enough to anchor a wall on its own, small enough for a hallway or a narrow stretch between doors.

We like it hung over a console table or sideboard, where the stripes and the vase of flowers give a plain run of wall a focal point at eye level. It suits a hallway, a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, and its cheerful still life sits happily in a kitchen too. Because it is multicoloured rather than tied to one shade, it can pick up tones you already have in cushions, ceramics or a rug. Florinda makes a thoughtful housewarming gift for anyone who loves flowers but would rather not keep them watered.

The print comes framed, and the material is 60% fir wood and 40% MDF. Fir is a softwood with a straight grain, while MDF is a smooth, stable board. At just 3cm deep it sits close to the wall instead of jutting out into a busy passage, and it weighs 1.47KG, worth knowing when you choose your picture hook and fixing. For styling, hang it with its lower edge a hand's width over the top of a console or sideboard, and let a real vase of flowers or a stack of books echo the painted still life.
