Description

The Fletcher is a 762mm (30") flush ceiling light built around a drum-shaped ivory faux silk shade with an aged brass central finial visible from below. The fitting houses seven E27 bulb sockets behind a white acrylic diffuser that sits between the shade fabric and the room, softening the light output and preventing direct glare from the bulbs.

Designed for larger rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a pendant would hang too low, the Fletcher suits open-plan living areas, dining rooms over 4m wide, primary bedrooms and home offices needing distributed ambient light without ceiling intrusion. The 282mm overall height from ceiling to shade bottom means the fitting projects less than 300mm, leaving clearance for doors, tall furniture and circulation. The seven-bulb configuration allows total light output to be scaled by bulb choice, from 35W combined (using 5W LEDs each) up to 420W if using 60W incandescent bulbs.

The faux silk shade fabric diffuses light laterally while the acrylic diffuser controls downward spill, giving the room a soft wash without harsh shadows. The aged brass finial adds a warm metallic accent against the ivory fabric, creating visual interest when viewed from seating positions below. The flush mount backplate fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose and the shade fabric can be cleaned with a soft brush attachment on low suction.

What bulbs does the Fletcher take?

The fitting has seven E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each rated to a maximum of 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 6-10W warm white LED bulbs (2700K-3000K) across all seven sockets for a combined output of 42-70W equivalent to approximately 4,200-7,000 lumens, suitable for ambient lighting in rooms up to 25m².

What ceiling height is required?

The 282mm projection suits ceilings of 2.3m or higher. In rooms with 2.3m ceilings the shade bottom will sit at approximately 2.02m, leaving clearance for most doorways and circulation. Lower ceilings may find the fitting intrudes into headroom near the centre of the room.

Can the ivory shade be cleaned?

Yes. The faux silk fabric can be cleaned with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low suction, or gently wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. Do not use water or chemical cleaners on the fabric as this may mark or discolour the ivory finish.

Is the aged brass finish lacquered or does it tarnish?

The aged brass finial is supplied with a factory-applied patina finish. Whether it is lacquered depends on the manufacturer's specification for this model. If unlacquered, natural tarnishing over time will deepen the aged effect. Contact us for confirmation if long-term finish stability is critical to your project.
