Description

The Fletcher is a 660mm flush ceiling light with an ivory faux silk drum shade stretched over a metal frame, finished with a polished chrome central finial and mounting plate. The fitting sits 272mm below the ceiling line and houses five E27 bulb fittings behind a white acrylic diffuser panel, which spreads light evenly through the fabric shade and downwards into the room.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and open-plan spaces where ceiling height is limited but floor area demands more output than a single-bulb fitting, the Fletcher provides ambient overhead lighting without dropping a pendant into head clearance. The flush mount suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above, and the 660mm diameter gives presence over a 3-4m dining table or a 4m x 4m living area without overwhelming smaller ceilings. The fitting mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose with the same backplate footprint as most decorative ceiling lights.

The ivory faux silk shade softens the light output from five bulbs, reducing glare and giving a warm diffused glow rather than direct downlight. The polished chrome finial and mounting plate reflect surrounding tones and pair with both warm and cool metal fixtures elsewhere in the room. At 60W maximum per socket, five warm-white LED bulbs at 6-8W each give approximately 3,000-4,000 lumens combined output, suitable for primary room lighting rather than accent or mood lighting.

The fitting takes five E27 bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 272mm below the ceiling line. For comfortable head clearance in a living room or dining area, ceiling heights of 2.3m or above work best. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Fletcher if the room is primarily furniture-based rather than standing circulation space.

Can the fabric shade be cleaned?

The ivory faux silk shade can be dusted with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner or wiped gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid water or cleaning sprays, as these may stain or mark the fabric.

Is the Fletcher dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer switch, the light output can be dimmed. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.
