Description

The Sone is a solar-powered LED bulkhead built for outdoor walls, drawing on a 3.2V DC supply from its integrated panel rather than mains wiring. It puts out up to 15W with a luminous flux reaching 2200 lm at a neutral 4000K, throwing a wide 90 degree spread of light across the surface in front of it. Measuring 270 x 49 x 306 mm, it sits flush against the wall and casts an even wash without a harsh hotspot. In North American terms a fitting of this kind is closer to an outdoor wall pack than a decorative sconce, giving security-grade output from a self-contained unit.

Because it carries its own solar charge and battery, the Sone suits locations where running a cable would be awkward: garden walls, garage and shed elevations, side passages, gateposts and boundary fences. The 90 degree beam and up to 2200 lm output are aimed at marking and securing an entrance or pathway rather than lighting a room, so think of it in terms of throw across a doorway, drive or yard rather than a measured floor area. The integrated LED and 3.2V DC solar arrangement means there is no external driver or transformer to specify and no mains feed to run, while the rated 25,000 hour lifespan keeps replacement intervals long. Yes. The Sone is rated IP65, which means it is protected against dust and direct water jets, so it is suitable for fully exposed outdoor walls as well as sheltered spots. It is well suited to garden walls, garages, sheds, gateposts and boundary fences.
