Description

The FireNova is a fire-rated recessed downlight with a 20° tilt mechanism housed in a matt white pressed steel bezel, designed for ceiling cut-outs of 75mm diameter. The fitting accepts a GU10 lamp up to 7W (sold separately) and provides directional light that can be angled towards walls, artwork or focal points within the 20° tilt range.

Fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes on solid wood joists and 30 minutes on metal web and I-joists, the FireNova meets UK Building Regulations requirements for fire compartmentation in domestic and commercial ceiling installations. The open-back design allows heat to dissipate into the ceiling void, reducing thermal build-up around the lamp. Loop-in/loop-out wiring via push-fit terminals simplifies installation when running multiple downlights on a single circuit.

The matt white finish integrates cleanly into white or neutral ceilings with a 3mm projection from the ceiling surface when recessed, keeping the visual presence minimal. The downlight requires a minimum ceiling void depth of 120mm to accommodate the 67mm recessed housing depth plus clearance for the lamp and wiring. When paired with the optional FireNova insulation bridge accessory (sold separately), the fitting becomes IC-rated for installations where loft insulation is in direct contact with the fitting.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 120mm void is required to fit the 67mm recessed housing plus a GU10 lamp and allow wiring clearance. Shallower voids cannot safely accommodate this fitting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 lamp used. Dimmable GU10 LED lamps will dim when paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Non-dimmable lamps should not be used with dimmers.

Can insulation touch the fitting?

Not without the FireNova insulation bridge accessory. The open-back design needs airflow for heat dissipation. If loft insulation will be in contact with the fitting, purchase the insulation bridge separately to achieve IC-rated status.

What fire rating does it carry?

Tested to 30, 60 and 90 minutes fire resistance on solid wood joists, and 30 minutes on metal web and I-joists. This meets UK Building Regulations Part B for maintaining ceiling fire compartmentation.
