Description

This is a slab of polished marble in beige, 38cm long, 18cm wide and 6cm tall, raised on two rounded marble feet. We list it as an ornament, and it earns its place on a shelf or table on looks alone, but it is just as happy working as a low footed stand or serving board. The top is a rectangle with softly rounded corners and a gently eased edge, and the stone carries sweeping veins that run across it on the diagonal. Marble is a natural stone, so the veining on yours will differ from piece to piece. At 5.15KG it is a weighty, solid thing that sits firmly wherever you put it.

The maker approves it for food, so it works as a serving board: a wedge of cheese and some crackers, a few pastries, or a cake brought to the table on its own low platform.
