Description
The EXIN is a compact recessed step light built around a round Ø80 face, drawing 2.5W to deliver 50 lumens of warm white 3000K light. A built-in PIR sensor brings it on when movement is detected, so the fitting marks a step or low-level edge without being left on through the night. Specified in the US this sits among low-level path and stair-marker lights, throwing a soft pool downward rather than lighting a whole space. The output is deliberately gentle, designed to pick out a level change underfoot and guide the way rather than flood the area with brightness.
Recessed into a wall at low level, the EXIN suits outdoor steps, porches, garden walls, entrance paths and the sides of decking runs where a discreet marker is wanted. Because it is a step light rather than ambient room lighting, think of its coverage as a localised wash across the tread or ground directly below it, enough to define the edge and the next footing. The PIR makes it well suited to approach paths and doorways where light is only needed as someone arrives. Mount it at the height that places the glow across the surface you want to mark, and space several along a longer run so each step or section is picked out in turn.
The body is aluminium alloy in a white finish, rated IP65 so it copes with exposed outdoor and wet locations including driving rain. It runs on 220-240V AC mains, fits a Ø80 x 48 mm recessed cut-out and weighs 120g, with a rated lifespan of around 30,000 hours. The light is fixed warm white at 3000K and is not dimmable, with the PIR handling on and off automatically. The EXIN is part of a wider range of recessed step and marker fittings stocked by Niori.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a separate transformer or driver?
No. The EXIN runs directly from 220-240V AC mains, so no separate 12V transformer or low-voltage driver is required. You wire it into a suitable mains supply at the point of installation.
Is it suitable for outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions, including steps, porches and garden walls subject to rain. It is well suited to damp and wet sites.
How does the built-in PIR sensor work?
An integrated passive infrared sensor detects nearby movement and switches the light on automatically, then off again after the area is clear. This means the step is marked only when someone is approaching, rather than the fitting staying lit continuously.
How should the fitting be cleaned?
Wipe the white face and lens with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, grime and any salt or splash residue picked up outdoors. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents on the aluminium body, and make sure the surface is dry before regular use resumes.
