Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light with a built-in PIR sensor, designed to mark a low level path the moment someone approaches. It draws 2.5W and gives 50 lumens at a warm 3000K, so the output is deliberately gentle rather than bright, picking out a step edge or a stretch of wall without dazzling. In the US this kind of fitting is usually called a step light too, and the round Ø80 face sits almost flush once recessed. The PIR brings the light on with movement and lets it switch off again, which keeps it unobtrusive along a route that is only used now and then.
The fitting suits outdoor steps, porch walls, garden paths and entrance thresholds where a guiding glow matters more than full illumination. Because it is a low output marker light rather than ambient room lighting, think of its job as picking out the immediate step or doorway and the ground just in front of it, not lighting a whole area. At 50 lumens it works best as one of several along a flight of steps or a path, spaced so each unit hands the eye on to the next. Mounted at shin or ankle height into a wall, it throws a soft warm pool downward onto the tread or paving below.
The body is aluminium alloy with a black finish, rated IP65 so it copes with exposed outdoor positions, rain and wet locations without trouble. It recesses into the wall via a round Ø80 cut-out and projects 48 mm into the structure, and the warm white 3000K tone is fixed rather than selectable. The light is not dimmable, runs on a 220-240V AC supply and is rated for 30,000 hours. The Exin range includes further wall and step fittings in the same round black format for matching a run.

Frequently Asked
Is the EXIN suitable for outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, so it is built for exposed outdoor walls, steps and entrances and copes with rain and direct wet conditions. The aluminium alloy body with a black finish is made to sit outside year round.
How does it recess into the wall?
The fitting is a recessed mount type that drops into a round Ø80 cut-out in the wall, projecting 48 mm behind the face. It is intended for shin or ankle height so the warm light falls onto the step or path below.
How does the PIR sensor work?
The built-in PIR detects movement and brings the 50 lumen output on as someone approaches, then switches it off again once the area is clear. This keeps the light unobtrusive on a route that is only used occasionally and avoids leaving it on all night.
How should I clean it?
Wipe the face with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, rain marks and any debris that can dull the output over time. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the aluminium and lens, and switch off at the supply before cleaning a fitting at low level.
