Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light that draws 2.5W to give a 50 lm output at 4000K cool white. The round Ø80 fitting sits flush in the wall and marks the edge of a step or path with a low, even wash rather than broad illumination. Its built-in PIR sensor wakes the light when someone approaches, so the step stays dark until it is needed. In the US this style of low-level fitting is often called a step light, the same recessed wall marker used along stairs and entry routes here.
The EXIN suits outdoor steps, garden walls, porches and pathway edges where the job is to pick out a level change rather than light a whole area. Set into the riser or a low wall at ankle height, it casts a downward pool that guides footing in the dark. Coverage is best judged by throw and not by floor area, so plan one fitting per step or every metre or so along a run for a continuous line of light. The PIR trigger keeps it off through the day and saves energy on routes used only occasionally.
Built from aluminium alloy in a grey finish, the EXIN carries an IP65 rating, so it withstands rain and direct wash on fully exposed steps and outdoor walls. It is a recessed wall fitting that drops into a Ø80 cut-out, with the body set 48mm deep into the structure. The integrated LED is fixed at 4000K and is not dimmable, with a rated life of 30,000 hours, and the PIR removes the need for a separate switch. We stock further fittings in the EXIN range for matching low-level outdoor lighting.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The EXIN carries an IP65 rating, so it is fully weatherproof and copes with rain and direct wash on exposed steps, walls and pathways. It is built for outdoor installation.
How does it recess into the wall?
It is a recessed fitting that drops into a Ø80 cut-out, with the body set 48mm deep into the wall or step riser. Once fitted the face sits flush with the surface. It is not a surface-mounted or staked unit.
How does the PIR sensor work?
A built-in PIR detects movement nearby and switches the light on as someone approaches, then off again after they pass. This keeps the step dark when unused and saves energy on routes used only occasionally.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the front with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild detergent, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive pads or solvents that could mark the grey aluminium finish or the sensor face.
