Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light that sets a low, controlled wash of light into a wall face. It draws 2.5W and gives 50 lumens of warm white at 3000K, a gentle output designed to mark a level change rather than flood a space. The round fitting measures Ø80 by 48 mm, sits flush once installed, and runs from a 220 to 240V AC supply. The same low-level marker light is sold in the US under terms such as step light and recessed wall light, where it serves the identical job of picking out treads and edges after dark.
Recessed into the wall alongside steps, a porch, a garden path or a stairwell, the EXIN throws a soft pool of light downward across the surface immediately below it. It is best read as edge and tread marking rather than ambient room lighting, so it is not measured as a coverage area in m². Spaced in a run along a flight of steps or a sloping path, several of these fittings together define the route without glare at eye level. The warm 3000K tone keeps the effect quiet and easy on the eye in an outdoor evening setting.
The body is aluminium alloy with a black finish, rated IP65 so it copes with exposed outdoor and wet positions. It mounts by recessing into the wall, with the fitting set into a prepared opening so the face finishes level with the surrounding surface. The light is not dimmable, with a rated lifespan of 30,000 hours and a CRI of Ra 80. Weighing 116 g, it is a compact marker fitting. The EXIN range includes further low-level lights for paths, steps and walls, available from us in black.

Frequently Asked
Does the EXIN need a separate transformer or driver?
No. This version runs directly from a 220 to 240V AC mains supply, so no 12V transformer is required. It wires in like a standard mains fitting, which keeps the installation straightforward where mains is already available.
Is it suitable for outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. The EXIN carries an IP65 rating, so it is weatherproof and suited to exposed outdoor positions, paths, porches and damp areas. The aluminium alloy body and black finish are made to stand up to the elements.
How is it installed into a wall?
It is a recessed mount fitting, set into a prepared opening in the wall so the round Ø80 face sits flush with the surface. Position it low alongside steps or along a path to wash light downward across the surface below.
How do I clean and maintain the fitting?
Wipe the front face with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, grit or splash marks, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could mark the black finish, and check the recess stays clear of debris so the light is not obscured.
