Description

The EXIN is a recessed LED step light that sets neatly into a wall to mark steps, paths and thresholds. It draws 2.5W and runs straight from 220-240V AC mains, putting out 50 lumens of fixed 3000K warm white light. Across the Atlantic this type of fitting is what most buyers would search for as a step light too, the same low-output marker used to wash a low band of light across a tread or skirting. The square 80 × 80 mm face keeps the fitting low-key by day and gives a soft downward glow once the light comes on.

This fitting is built for the boundary between paths and changes in level, so it suits outdoor steps, garden walls, raised decks and the edges of patios and driveways. It marks the line of a step rather than lighting a whole space, so think of it as wayfinding rather than ambient lighting: the 50-lumen output grazes the surface just below the fitting and picks out the edge underfoot. Set it at the right height on a flight of steps or along a low retaining wall, spacing several units evenly to guide the eye down a run after dark. The warm 3000K tone keeps the effect gentle against brick, render and stone.

The body is aluminium alloy in a white finish, with a square front plate sized at 80 × 80 × 48 mm and a weight of 130 g. It carries an IP65 rating, so it stands up to exposed outdoor positions, rain and wet locations without needing a sheltered spot. The fitting recesses into the wall as a flush mount, running directly from mains voltage with no separate transformer to specify, and it is not dimmable. No. This EXIN step light runs directly from 220-240V AC mains, so there is no low-voltage transformer or external driver to source. It wires straight into a mains supply at the wall.

Yes. The fitting is rated IP65, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions, including rain and wet locations. It can be fitted to garden walls, steps and patio edges without a sheltered spot.

How is it installed?

It is a recessed wall fitting, so it sets flush into a wall or the riser of a step rather than sitting on the surface. You will need a suitable recess to take the 80 × 80 × 48 mm body, with mains cable run to the position.

How should it be cleaned and maintained?

Wipe the white front plate with a soft damp cloth to clear dust, salt and grime, which keeps the light output bright. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the aluminium alloy body and lens. Switch off and let it cool before cleaning.
