Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light with a built-in PIR sensor, drawing 2.5W to deliver 50 lumens at a cool white 4000K tone. The round Ø80 mm fitting sits flush in the wall and runs from a 220-240V AC supply, so no separate transformer is needed. Sold elsewhere as a recessed wall step light, it casts a low, downward wash that picks out the edge of each tread rather than lighting a whole area. The PIR brings the light up as someone approaches and lets it drop again once they have passed.
The EXIN suits outdoor steps, garden stairways, porch thresholds and the low walls that flank a path, where it marks the change in level underfoot. Because the output is modest and aimed downward, it works as guidance lighting rather than ambient room lighting, so think of its reach as a pool of light across the step in front of it rather than a measured coverage area. Place one fitting per tread, or alternate treads on a longer flight, mounting at ankle to knee height to keep the beam off people's eyes and on the surface they are walking over.
Built into an aluminium alloy body with a round black finish, the EXIN carries an IP65 rating, so it stands up to rain and wash-down in fully exposed outdoor positions. It is a fixed cool white fitting at 4000K with a CRI of Ra 80 and is not dimmable. The light recesses into the wall via a back box or conduit opening, sitting flush once fitted, and the integrated PIR removes the need for a separate switch. Rated for 30,000 hours, it is a low-maintenance choice for steps and stair walls.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a 12V transformer or driver?
No. The EXIN runs directly from a 220-240V AC mains supply, so there is no separate 12V transformer or driver to wire in. You connect it to the mains feed at the recess point.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The IP65 rating means it is weatherproof and can be used in fully exposed outdoor locations, including direct rain and wash-down. It is well suited to garden steps, porches and external stair walls.
How is it installed?
The EXIN is a recessed fitting that drops into an opening in the wall, sitting flush against the surface once fixed. Mount it at ankle to knee height on the wall beside the steps so the light falls onto each tread.
How do I keep it clean?
Wipe the front of the fitting with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, rain marks and garden debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the aluminium body and lens, and switch off at the supply before cleaning.
