Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light built to mark walls, steps and low-level routes with a soft, controlled wash. It draws just 2.5W and puts out 50 lm at a 4000K cool white tone, giving a crisp, neutral light that reads clearly underfoot without dazzling. Known in the UK as a step light, it covers the same ground as what US buyers call an outdoor step or path light, sitting flush in the wall face rather than projecting from it. The round Ø80 fitting keeps a tidy profile once installed.
Because the output is deliberately low, this is accent and wayfinding light rather than ambient room lighting. It suits the side walls of garden steps, sunken patios, raised decking edges, porch returns and entrance paths, where a run of fittings can pick out tread edges and changes in level after dark. Expect a localised pool of light around each unit that grazes the adjacent surface, so coverage is about marking the route and the step face rather than lighting a whole area. Space several along a stairway or path to give an even, repeating rhythm of light.
The body is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, rated IP65 so it stands up to exposed outdoor and wet locations including driving rain. It runs on 220-240V AC mains and recess mounts into the wall, dropping into a cut-out for a flush face. The light is fixed at 4000K cool white and is not dimmable, with a rated life of around 30,000 hours. The EXIN sits within our wider step and ground lighting range if you need matching fittings for a longer run.

Frequently Asked
Is the EXIN suitable for outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, so it is protected against dust and water jets and is suitable for fully exposed outdoor walls and wet locations. It is well suited to garden steps, patios and entrance paths that see direct rain.
Does it need a separate transformer or driver?
No. The EXIN runs directly on 220-240V AC mains, so it does not require a low-voltage transformer. It should be wired and installed by a qualified electrician in line with local wiring regulations.
How is it installed?
It is a recessed fitting that mounts into the wall, dropping into a round cut-out sized for the Ø80 body so it sits flush with the surface. This keeps the profile neat and protects the fitting from knocks. Allow for the 48 mm depth behind the wall face when planning the recess.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the face with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, grit and rain marks, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents on the aluminium body and lens. A quick clean now and then keeps the cool white output looking bright.
