Description
The EXIN is a recessed LED step light with a built-in PIR motion sensor, drawing 2.5W and giving 50 lumens at a 4000K cool white tone. It runs from a 220-240V AC mains supply, so no separate low-voltage transformer is needed, and the square 80 x 80mm faceplate sits flush once recessed into the wall. North American buyers will know this format as a recessed step light or path marker; here the PIR triggers the output as someone approaches, then dims it back down once the area is clear.
The fitting suits outdoor steps, garden walls, porch surrounds, pathways and entrance routes where a low, guiding glow makes footing safer after dark. Because it is a directional marker rather than a room light, it is best judged on throw rather than coverage area: the 50 lumen output washes the tread or step directly below and to the sides, picking out edges and changes in level without dazzling. Several units spaced along a flight of steps or a run of low wall give an even line of guiding light, and the motion trigger keeps them off until movement is detected.
Built from aluminium alloy with a white finish, the EXIN carries an IP65 rating, so it is weatherproof and rated for exposed outdoor and wet locations. The body recesses into the wall via the supplied housing, and the 48mm depth sets how far back the unit sits behind the faceplate. The colour temperature is fixed at 4000K cool white and the fitting is not dimmable, with the PIR sensor managing on and off automatically. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it is built for long service in entrance and pathway settings. The wider Exin range includes companion fittings in matching white for a consistent look across a property.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a 12V transformer or driver?
No. The EXIN runs directly from a 220-240V AC mains supply, so no separate low-voltage transformer or external driver is required. You wire it straight into the mains feed at the recess point.
Can it be used outdoors and in wet locations?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, which makes it weatherproof and suitable for fully exposed outdoor and wet locations such as garden steps, porches and pathways. It can take direct rain without issue.
How is it installed?
The fitting is a recessed mount that sits flush in the wall, using the square 80 x 80mm faceplate with a 48mm body depth behind it. Set the recess to that depth and feed the mains cable through before fixing the unit in place.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the white faceplate with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, salt or garden grime, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive pads or solvents on the aluminium alloy body, and check the PIR lens is clear so motion detection stays reliable.
