Description

Eveready Gold C size alkaline batteries deliver 1.5V power for radios, torches, remote-controlled toys and other mid-drain household devices. Each cell measures 27mm diameter × 50mm height (standard C cell dimensions) and uses alkaline chemistry to provide a steady discharge curve over the battery's service life.

The 2-pack format suits households and workshops needing spare cells for torches, portable radios, battery-powered clocks and children's toys that take C batteries. Alkaline chemistry gives these cells a shelf life of several years when stored at room temperature, so unopened packs remain ready for use. The cells fit any device designed for standard C size batteries and work in both single-cell and multi-cell configurations.

Eveready Gold batteries are designed for devices with moderate and intermittent power draw rather than high-current applications. A portable radio, wall clock or LED torch will run for months on a pair of C cells, while a high-draw motorised toy may deplete them more quickly. The gold-and-black livery makes them easy to identify in a mixed battery drawer.

Frequently Asked

What devices use C size batteries?

C batteries are commonly used in portable radios, larger torches, battery-powered lanterns, wall clocks, motorised toys and some portable stereos. Any device with a cylindrical battery compartment approximately 27mm wide and 50mm deep takes C cells.

How long do alkaline C batteries last?

Service life depends on the device's power draw. A low-drain device like a wall clock may run for 12-18 months on a pair of C cells, while a high-drain motorised toy may deplete them in a few weeks of regular use. Unused cells stored at room temperature retain charge for several years.

Can these be used in torches?

Yes. C cells are a common size for household and camping torches, especially older LED models and incandescent designs. Check your torch's battery compartment to confirm it takes C size before purchasing.

Are these rechargeable?

No. Eveready Gold batteries are single-use alkaline cells and should not be placed in a battery charger. Once depleted, they should be disposed of via a battery recycling scheme.
