Description

Espiga sets three small opal white shades on slim arms above a slender anthracite post, so the light comes from just above planting height rather than from overhead. At 1.13m it sits low in a border or beside a path, and the spread arms carry the glow across a wider footprint than a single head manages. Each head takes a G9 capsule, and the opal shades soften the output into a wash rather than a hot point.

We would put it at the turn of a front path, along a driveway edge or at the top of a short flight of garden steps, where the route wants reading at a glance without a tall column pulling the eye. It is sealed against rain and hose spray, so it copes with an exposed front garden, and it suits anyone lighting a garden in stages rather than flooding the lot. It is not dimmable, so a switch or a timer on the supply is the simplest way to control it. Alone it marks a gate; repeated along a boundary it draws a line you can follow in the dark.

The anthracite finish is a dark grey that reads close to black against foliage and keeps quiet once the heads are lit. Wipe the shades clear of dust and pollen at the start of the season and again in autumn, and brush leaf litter away from the base so rain drains off freely. It carries a two year warranty. We stock this post in other head counts as well, all in the same anthracite, so a longer boundary can be lit with one family of fittings. Lamps are not included.
