Description
The ESP Duceri is a 3W LED emergency exit sign with a down arrow directional legend on a green background, housed in a black steel surface-mount box. The sign operates in maintained mode, meaning the LEDs stay lit continuously when mains power is present, switching to battery backup during power failure. A lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery provides three hours of emergency illumination.
Designed for wall mounting in commercial, retail, hospitality and public buildings where clear directional signage is required under both normal and emergency conditions, the Duceri meets BS EN 60598-2-22 standards for emergency lighting. The 25m viewing distance makes it suitable for corridors, stairwells, large open-plan spaces and exit routes where signage must remain visible from a distance. The maintained operation ensures the sign is always visible, making it easier for occupants to locate exits before an emergency occurs.
The steel housing measures 390 x 190 x 60mm and weighs 1.2kg net, giving a robust presence on the wall without needing reinforced fixings. The 5500K cool white LED illumination behind the green legend provides high contrast and remains clearly legible under most ambient lighting conditions. The integrated charge and discharge protection extends battery life, and a green LED indicator on the housing confirms the unit is receiving mains power and the battery is charged. The down arrow legend directs occupants to descend stairs or continue downwards towards an exit at a lower level.

Frequently Asked
What does maintained mode mean?
Maintained mode means the LEDs remain lit continuously when mains power is available, switching to battery backup only during power failure. This differs from non-maintained operation where the LEDs only illuminate when mains power is lost.
How long does the battery last during a power cut?
The lithium iron phosphate battery provides three hours of emergency illumination from a full charge, meeting the standard emergency lighting duration requirement for most UK buildings.
What viewing distance does it support?
The sign is rated for a 25m viewing distance, meaning the legend remains clearly legible from up to 25 metres away. This makes it suitable for large corridors, open-plan spaces and long sightlines where exit signage must be visible from a distance.
How is it powered and installed?
The unit requires a mains power connection to keep the battery charged and maintain continuous illumination. It mounts to the wall surface using fixings through the back of the steel housing. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS EN 60598-2-22 and local building regulations.
