Description
The Erton is a recessed LED downlight that drops into a round ceiling cut-out and draws 23W to deliver 2510 lumens at a neutral 4000K white. American buyers will recognise this format as a recessed can light, sitting flush in the ceiling with the round trim showing as the only visible detail. The 45 degree beam keeps the light reasonably focused, throwing a defined pool downward rather than washing across the whole room, which suits it to layouts where several fittings share the work. With Ra 90 colour rendering, the light it gives is accurate enough for kitchens, retail and any space where finishes and faces need to read true.
The neutral 4000K tone and 2510 lumen output make the Erton a good fit for kitchens, hallways, utility rooms and home offices where a clean, alert light is wanted. At general lighting levels a single fitting covers around 8 m², so a typical room is best served by a planned grid of several units spaced evenly for an even spread rather than relying on one. Keep it to dry indoor positions only, as the IP20 rating means it is not suited to bathrooms, porches or any damp or outdoor location. Allow enough void depth above the ceiling for the 150 mm body when planning the cut-out.
Built from aluminium alloy with a white finish, the Erton measures Ø190 mm across the trim and 150 mm deep, and weighs 988 g. It runs on 220 to 240V AC and recesses into the ceiling, secured by spring clips behind the trim. The fitting is not dimmable, so it pairs with standard switched circuits rather than a dimmer. Rated for 30,000 hours of use, it offers a long service life with an efficiency of 109 lm/W. Kanlux supply a wider Erton range in matching styles for fitting out a whole room consistently.

Frequently Asked
Is this downlight dimmable?
No, the Erton is not dimmable and is designed for use on standard switched circuits. If you need adjustable brightness you would need a different fitting rated for dimming, as pairing a non-dimmable LED with a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its life.
What size cut-out hole does it need?
The fitting drops into a round ceiling cut-out, which is the hole you cut, and this is smaller than the overall Ø190 mm trim that sits visible on the surface. Check the supplied installation sheet for the exact cut-out diameter and leave 150 mm of clearance in the ceiling void for the body.
How many do I need for a room?
At general lighting levels one fitting covers around 8 m², so plan a grid of several units spaced evenly for a smooth, shadow-free spread. A medium kitchen or living space typically uses four or more, positioned to light work surfaces and walkways rather than clustered in the centre.
How do I clean the fitting?
Wipe the white trim with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners that could mark the finish. Make sure the fitting is switched off and cool before cleaning, and never let moisture reach the recessed body, as it is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only.
