Description
The Erich is a 12 light chandelier built on a brass frame with curved arms radiating from a central stem, each terminating in a white blown glass globe. The chandelier measures 110cm wide and 50cm front-to-back, with an adjustable drop between 70cm and 140cm set on installation. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately), rated at up to 40W per socket.
Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Erich sits within mid-century and contemporary interiors. The asymmetric arm arrangement — some arms extending long, others short, with globes mounted at different heights — creates visual interest without symmetry. At 110cm wide the chandelier suits dining tables between 180-240cm long, or open-plan kitchen islands of similar length. The brass arms curve gently rather than branching at hard angles, softening the overall profile.
The white blown glass globes diffuse light in all directions, providing ambient rather than focused illumination. The brass finish is a warm tone that sits between polished and satin, with enough reflectivity to catch light from the bulbs but not enough to create strong mirror-like reflections. The frame construction is hollow-section brass tubing, keeping the overall weight manageable for standard ceiling roses while maintaining rigidity across the 110cm span. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations.
The adjustable drop allows the chandelier to be shortened for lower ceilings or extended in double-height spaces, with the cable and chain concealed within the central stem. Maytoni supplies this as part of their Erich collection, which includes smaller variants and matching wall lights in the same brass-and-globe style.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Erich takes twelve E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or living room lighting.
What ceiling height is needed?
The minimum drop of 70cm plus the 42.7cm chandelier body gives 112.7cm total. For a dining table the chandelier typically sits 75-90cm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Higher ceilings can use the extended 140cm drop setting.
How is the drop adjusted?
The drop is adjusted during installation by shortening or extending the chain and cable within the central stem. Once installed and wired the drop is fixed — it cannot be adjusted without re-accessing the ceiling rose.
Can it be fitted on a sloped ceiling?
The Erich is designed for flat ceilings. On a sloped ceiling the chandelier will hang vertically from the rose, which may create an off-centre appearance depending on the slope angle. A sloped ceiling adaptor is not supplied with this product.
