These are AAA cells from Energizer's Ultimate Lithium range, boxed ten at a time. The chemistry is what you are paying for. A lithium primary cell of this size is lighter than the alkaline equivalent, holds a steadier voltage as it drains rather than tailing off gradually, and keeps working in cold conditions that slow alkaline chemistry down. The pack prints a 20 year shelf life.
