Description
The Energizer Pro Charger is a mains-powered NiMH battery charger that charges two or four AA or AAA rechargeable batteries in approximately 3 hours. The unit ships with four AA 2000mAh NiMH batteries included in the pack, ready to charge and use on arrival. The charger accepts both AA and AAA sizes in the same bays, automatically detecting which size is inserted.
Designed for home use where rechargeable AA or AAA batteries are regularly cycled through torches, remote controls, cameras, toys and wireless peripherals, the Pro Charger includes overcharge protection to prevent damage to cells once they reach full capacity. A bad battery detection system flags faulty or damaged cells with a red 'X' indicator and an audible beep, preventing unsafe charging attempts. Visual LED indicators show charging progress through green, yellow and red stages, confirming when cells are ready to use.
The four included AA batteries carry a 2000mAh capacity rating and use nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) chemistry, which holds charge better than older nickel-cadmium (NiCd) cells and can be recharged hundreds of times before capacity degrades. The batteries contain 4% recycled materials as part of Energizer's environmental programme. The charger unit measures 85mm wide, 108mm deep and 210mm tall, with a standard UK mains plug.

Frequently Asked
How long does it take to charge the batteries?
The Energizer Pro Charger completes a full charge cycle for 2 or 4 AA or AAA NiMH batteries in approximately 3 hours, depending on the capacity of the cells and their initial charge state. The LED indicators confirm when charging is complete.
Can I charge just one battery at a time?
No. The charger is designed to charge batteries in pairs (2 or 4 cells). Single-cell charging is not supported by this model.
What does the bad battery detection alert do?
If the charger detects a faulty, damaged or incompatible battery, it displays a red 'X' indicator on the relevant bay and emits an audible beep. This prevents the charger from attempting to charge a defective cell, which could otherwise create a safety risk.
Are the included batteries pre-charged?
NiMH rechargeable batteries typically ship with a partial charge but should be fully charged before first use to maximise lifespan and performance. Place all four included AA cells in the charger and run a full 3-hour charge cycle before use.
