Description
The Energizer Power Plus AAA rechargeable batteries are 700mAh NiMH cells supplied pre-charged in a 4-pack. Each battery measures 10.5mm diameter by 44.5mm height and operates at 1.2V nominal voltage. The NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) chemistry allows hundreds of recharge cycles, making them a reusable alternative to single-use alkaline AAA cells.
Designed for everyday devices with moderate to high drain rates, these batteries suit wireless keyboards and mice, remote controls, portable audio players, digital thermometers, glucose meters, torches, and children's battery-operated toys. The 700mAh capacity provides several hours of runtime in typical low-drain devices like remote controls, and shorter but adequate runtime in higher-drain devices like wireless game controllers or digital cameras on standby mode. The batteries arrive pre-charged and can be used straight from the pack.
Rechargeable NiMH batteries differ from alkaline in two key ways: they operate at 1.2V instead of 1.5V (most devices tolerate this without issue), and they hold voltage more steadily across their discharge curve, meaning devices don't experience the gradual fade common with alkaline cells. The Energizer Power Plus range is rated to retain charge for up to 12 months when stored at room temperature, reducing the need to recharge batteries that have been sitting in a drawer.
The pack includes four AAA cells. A compatible NiMH charger is required for recharging (sold separately). Energizer rates these batteries for hundreds of charge cycles under normal use, though actual cycle life depends on how deeply the batteries are discharged before recharging and the charging method used. Shallow discharge cycles (recharging when partially depleted) extend total lifespan compared to full discharge cycles.

Frequently Asked
What charger do these batteries need?
These require a NiMH battery charger rated for AAA cells. Energizer produces several compatible chargers, including the Energizer Recharge Universal and Recharge Pro models. Standard alkaline battery chargers will not work with NiMH cells.
Can these replace alkaline AAA batteries in all devices?
NiMH rechargeables operate at 1.2V instead of 1.5V, but most modern devices tolerate this voltage difference without issue. Older devices or those with tight voltage tolerances may not perform as expected. Test compatibility with a single cell before committing a full set.
How many times can these batteries be recharged?
Energizer rates the Power Plus range for hundreds of recharge cycles under normal use. Actual cycle life depends on discharge depth and charging habits — shallow discharge cycles (recharging when partially depleted) extend lifespan compared to full discharge cycles.
Do they come pre-charged?
Yes. The batteries arrive pre-charged and ready to use straight from the pack. Energizer rates them to retain charge for up to 12 months when stored at room temperature.
