Can these be recharged?

No. Alkaline cells are single use and should never be put in a charger. Rechargeable AA cells are a different chemistry and are bought separately.

Will they cope with a camera flash or another high drain device?

They will run one, but alkaline chemistry is happiest at low to moderate drain. For repeated high current bursts a lithium or rechargeable AA lasts longer.

Does the pack print a shelf life?
