Description

Five G9 lamps sit within a broad ring of clear crystal, held on a satin brass frame that sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging from it. At 58cm across it reads as a wide, low disc of light, the crystal catching and breaking each beam so the glow spreads outwards as much as down. The satin finish keeps the brass soft and warm rather than mirror bright.

This is what we reach for in rooms where a chandelier would be in the way: a hallway, a dining room, a main bedroom, a wide landing. Ceiling height is usually what decides it, and where a pendant would hang down into eye level over a table or a stairwell, a semi flush fitting like this keeps the room clear. It gives ambient light rather than a working pool, so keep table lamps by the chairs where you read. Fit dimmable capsules and a compatible dimmer and it will drop back to a low sparkle for the evening, while on full it has the spread to carry a good sized room on its own.

The frame is metal in satin brass, set with clear Diyas Select crystal that forms the whole body of the fitting. To keep it sharp, switch off at the wall, let the fitting cool, then work round the crystal with a dry lint-free cloth, since the glass shows dust and fingerprints far sooner than the metal does. It carries a one year warranty. We stock this size in satin nickel as well, with three light versions of both finishes, and there are matching wall lights and table lamps if you want one look running through a room. Lamps are not included.

With the power off and the fitting cold, go over each crystal piece with a dry lint-free cloth. Leave chemical sprays and damp cloths well away from the satin brass.

Is there a smaller version or another finish?

Yes. The same 58cm size comes in satin nickel, and there is a 56cm three light version in both satin brass and satin nickel.
