The Ella is a 100x150cm hand-painted oil portrait on canvas, showing a female figure with abstracted facial features partially obscured by brushstroke distortion and scattered gold leaf fragments. The painting is mounted on a wooden stretcher and set within a slim black polystyrene frame, ready to hang straight from the box.

Designed for contemporary living rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms where a large vertical artwork can anchor a wall, the Ella works well above a console table, sideboard or low credenza. Is this a print or an original painting?

This is a hand-painted oil painting on canvas, not a print. Each piece is painted individually, so slight variations in brushwork and the placement of gold leaf fragments will occur between different examples of the same design.

Does it come framed and ready to hang?

Yes. The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame and mounted in a black polystyrene outer frame. Hanging hardware is included, so it can be wall-mounted immediately on delivery.

What wall fixings are needed?

At 3.87kg, the painting can be hung with standard picture hooks rated for 5kg or above. Two hooks positioned approximately 70-80cm apart along the top third of the back frame will distribute the weight evenly.

Can the painting be cleaned?

Oil paintings should not be wiped with water or household cleaners. Light surface dust can be removed with a soft, dry brush. For deeper cleaning or restoration, consult a professional art conservator.
