Description
The Elara is an 850mm semi-flush ceiling light built from two tiers of vertical Spanish alabaster panels arranged in a stepped circular drum, fixed to twin brushed brass canopies. Sixteen G9 lamps sit inside the drum and light the alabaster from within, turning each panel into a discrete diffuser. Overall height is 225mm, keeping the fitting close to the ceiling while still presenting a substantial 850mm-wide ring of stone.
The shallow 225mm drop makes the Elara well suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m where a hanging chandelier would sit too low. It works as the primary ceiling light over dining tables, larger entrance halls, principal bedrooms and open-plan living spaces, providing ambient light from sixteen sources spread across an 850mm diameter rather than a single concentrated point. The twin-canopy mount fixes to two ceiling points for stability given the weight of the alabaster.
Each alabaster panel is cut from solid natural Spanish stone, so veining, mineral inclusions and translucency vary across the ring. The lower tier is composed of irregularly trimmed panels with stepped bottom edges, giving the drum a fractured, geological lower silhouette rather than a clean circular hem. Visible brass screw heads fix each panel to the concealed frame, leaving the metalwork as a deliberate detail against the white stone rather than hiding it.

Frequently Asked
Is the Elara suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The semi-flush design has an overall height of 225mm, so the fitting sits close to the ceiling and works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m and above where a hanging chandelier would feel intrusive.
What bulbs does it take?
The Elara uses sixteen G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). G9 LEDs in 2700K-3000K warm white are the most common pairing for alabaster, since the warm light brings out the honeyed tones in the stone veining.
Does each alabaster panel look identical?
No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral inclusions, translucency and tonal variation differ between panels and between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone.
How is it fixed to the ceiling?
The Elara mounts via two brushed brass canopies fixed to the ceiling, which together support the weight of the alabaster drum. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, who will confirm the ceiling structure can take the fitting's weight before fixing.
