Description
The Ecliptus is a 5-metre 24V LED strip light delivering 75W total output at 4000K neutral white colour temperature. The strip comprises surface-mounted LED chips on a flexible white PCB backing, with adhesive on the reverse for direct application to clean, dry surfaces. Operating on 24V low-voltage DC, it requires a compatible 24V LED driver (sold separately) wired to mains supply.
Designed for accent lighting, task lighting and indirect illumination in kitchens, offices, workshops, retail display and under-cabinet applications, the strip suits any dry indoor environment where IP20 protection is sufficient. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that balances visibility and colour accuracy without the warmth of 3000K or the clinical tone of 6000K, making it effective for workspace lighting and areas where both function and atmosphere matter.
Dimmable operation allows brightness adjustment from full 75W output down to low ambient levels when paired with a compatible 24V dimmable driver and dimmer control. The flexible strip can be cut at marked intervals to fit exact installation lengths, with solder pads at each cut point for re-connection if needed. At 10mm projection including the PCB and LED height, the strip sits low enough for recessed channel installation or direct surface mounting behind coving, under cabinets and inside display units.
The IP20 rating means the strip has no moisture protection and must be installed in dry locations away from water contact. LED lifespan is rated at 50,000 hours under typical operating conditions, and the strip carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux. The 24V operating voltage provides safer handling during installation compared to mains-voltage strip, and reduces voltage drop over the 5-metre run compared to 12V alternatives.

Frequently Asked
Does this come with a power supply?
No. The Ecliptus operates on 24V DC and requires a separate 24V LED driver rated at 75W or higher. The driver must be purchased separately and wired to mains supply by a qualified electrician.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The strip has marked cut points at regular intervals where it can be trimmed with scissors to fit the exact installation length. Each cut point includes solder pads for re-connection if joining multiple sections.
Is it suitable for bathroom installation?
No. The IP20 rating provides no moisture protection, so the strip must be installed in dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require IP44 minimum rating, and zones near water require IP65 or higher.
What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?
4000K produces a neutral white light with minimal colour cast, suited to task lighting and workspaces. 3000K produces a warmer white with a slight yellow tone, suited to living spaces and ambient lighting. 4000K appears cooler and more clinical but provides better colour accuracy.
