Description
The Ecliptus is a 5-metre 24V LED strip light rated at 75W total output, delivering warm white 3000K light across its length. The strip runs on low-voltage 24V DC supply (transformer required, sold separately) and is fully dimmable when paired with a compatible 24V LED dimmer, allowing output to be reduced from full brightness down to a low ambient level.
Designed for dry indoor installation, the IP20 rating limits the strip to locations protected from moisture and dust ingress. Common applications include under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, cove lighting around ceiling perimeters, behind headboards in bedrooms, inside alcoves and shelving units, and accent lighting for architectural features. The 10mm profile sits flush against most surfaces and can be cut to length at marked intervals along the strip, allowing tailored fits for specific runs.
The strip uses high-density LEDs mounted on a flexible white PCB backing, giving consistent light distribution without visible hotspots when diffused behind frosted profiles or bounced off surfaces. At 15W per metre, the strip produces approximately 1,200 lumens per metre, enough for task lighting at close range or accent lighting at distance. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white band, closer to halogen than daylight, making it suitable for residential and hospitality settings where a softer tone is preferred over clinical white.
Ideal Lux backs the Ecliptus with a 5-year warranty. Installation requires a 24V DC constant-voltage power supply matched to the strip length and a compatible dimmer if dimming function is needed. The strip can be joined to additional 5-metre reels up to the maximum run length supported by the transformer specification.

Frequently Asked
What power supply does the Ecliptus need?
The strip requires a 24V DC constant-voltage transformer. For a single 5m reel at 75W total, a transformer rated at 80-100W minimum is recommended to allow headroom. The transformer is sold separately and must be matched to the total length of strip being installed.
Can the strip be dimmed?
Yes, the Ecliptus is dimmable when paired with a compatible 24V LED dimmer installed between the transformer and the strip. Standard mains dimmers will not work with 24V LED strips.
Can the strip be cut to a shorter length?
Yes. The strip has marked cut points at regular intervals along its length, typically every 50-100mm. Cutting at these points allows tailored lengths without damaging the circuit. Cut sections can be rejoined using strip-to-strip connectors.
Is the strip suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip is designed for dry indoor environments only. It offers no protection against moisture or dust ingress. For bathroom zones 1-3 or outdoor use, a higher IP-rated strip (IP65 or IP67) is required.
