Description
The Ecliptus is a 5m 24V LED strip light delivering 2700K warm white light at 20W total consumption across the full reel. The strip runs on low-voltage 24V DC, requiring a separate driver or power supply (sold separately), and supports dimming when paired with a compatible 24V dimmer module. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from moisture.
Designed for kitchen under-cabinet lighting, alcove illumination, cove lighting in living rooms, and highlighting shelving or artwork, the strip is supplied on a 5m reel and can be cut to length at marked intervals (typically every 50-100mm, depending on LED density). The silicone coating on the strip protects the individual LEDs and circuit board during handling and installation, while the 10mm width sits flush in shallow channels and profiles.
The 2700K colour temperature produces a warm white output comparable to traditional tungsten bulbs, sitting comfortably in residential interiors without the cooler blue cast of higher Kelvin ratings. At 20W for 5m, the strip draws 4W per metre, which is mid-range output suited to accent and task lighting rather than primary room illumination. The dimming function allows the intensity to be reduced for evening use or dialled up for kitchen prep work, provided the driver and dimmer are correctly matched to the 24V strip.
Installation requires the strip to be adhered to a clean, dry surface using the backing adhesive, with additional clips or aluminium channel recommended for longer runs to prevent sagging. The 24V operating voltage is safer than mains-voltage strips in domestic settings and reduces voltage drop over the 5m length compared to 12V equivalents, meaning more consistent brightness from start to finish of the reel.

Frequently Asked
Does this come with a power supply?
No. The strip requires a separate 24V DC LED driver sized to match the wattage of the installed length. For the full 5m at 20W, a 24V driver rated at 25W minimum is needed to allow headroom. Drivers are sold separately.
Can it be cut to shorter lengths?
Yes. The strip has marked cut points at regular intervals, typically every 50-100mm depending on LED density. Cut only at these marked points to avoid damaging the circuit. Once cut, the unused portion can be powered separately if needed.
Is it dimmable out of the box?
The strip itself supports dimming, but you need a compatible 24V dimmer module installed between the driver and the strip. Standard mains dimmers will not work. Check that your chosen driver and dimmer are rated for LED strip use at 24V.
Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
The IP20 rating means it can only be used in dry areas. Under kitchen cabinets away from sinks is acceptable, but it cannot be installed in bathroom zones near water or anywhere moisture is present. For wet areas, an IP65 or IP67 rated strip is required.
