Description
The Ecliptus is a 5-metre 24V LED strip light delivering 15W output at 2700K warm white. The strip runs on low-voltage 24V DC, which requires a separate transformer (sold separately) and allows for longer continuous runs without voltage drop compared to 12V systems. Each metre of strip contains surface-mount LEDs encased in a flexible silicone coating with an IP20 rating, suitable for dry indoor locations only.
Designed for under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, cove lighting along ceiling edges, alcove accent lighting, and display shelving, the strip can be cut to length at marked intervals (typically every 50-100mm, see the strip itself for exact cut points) and reconnected using solder joints or clip connectors. The 10mm width and flexible backing allow it to bend around gentle curves and sit within shallow recesses. When paired with a compatible 24V LED dimmer, the strip dims from 100% down to approximately 10% output, allowing control of both task lighting and ambient mood.
The 2700K colour temperature produces warm light comparable to a traditional incandescent bulb, making it well-suited to residential interiors where cool daylight-tone LEDs would feel clinical. The strip adheres via a self-adhesive backing, though for permanent installations into aluminium channels or profiles, additional mechanical fixing is recommended as adhesive performance degrades over time, particularly on dusty or textured surfaces. Total power draw is 3W per metre, so the full 5m reel draws 15W at full brightness.
The Ecliptus carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, an Italian lighting manufacturer with manufacturing and distribution across Europe. The strip itself is field-cuttable and can be trimmed to exact project requirements, with offcuts usable elsewhere if re-terminated correctly.

Frequently Asked
Does this come with a transformer?
No. The Ecliptus requires a separate 24V DC LED driver/transformer (sold separately) matched to the total wattage of the installed strip length. For the full 5m reel, a 15W minimum driver is needed; for shorter cut lengths, calculate 3W per metre and add 20% overhead.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The strip has marked cut points at regular intervals (typically every 50-100mm). Cut only at these marks to avoid damaging LED circuits. Once cut, the strip can be reconnected using solder joints or clip connectors designed for 24V LED strip.
Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip has no moisture protection and is suitable only for dry indoor locations. For bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor installations, an IP65 or IP67 rated strip is required.
What dimmer does it need?
The strip requires a trailing-edge or PWM dimmer rated for 24V LED loads, installed between the transformer and the strip. Standard mains dimmers will not work. Consult your electrician or contact us for compatible dimmer recommendations.
