Description
This E27 golf ball LED bulb is a small round (G45) lamp that fits any standard E27 Edison Screw (ES) holder. It draws just 4.9W while putting out 470 lumens, replacing an old 40W incandescent bulb at a fraction of the running cost. The light is a 4000K cool white with a wide 160 degree beam, so it spreads evenly rather than throwing a tight spot. In US terms the E27 is the standard medium screw base, and the G45 maps to the small G14 globe shape.
The compact golf ball form suits fittings where a full-size GLS bulb looks bulky: bedside and table lamps, small pendants, wall brackets and multi-arm fittings over a dining or living area. The crisp 4000K tone reads as a clean, neutral white that works well in kitchens, studies and hallways where a brighter, more functional light is wanted. With a 160 degree spread it lights a room broadly rather than aiming at one surface, and the Ra 80 colour rendering keeps everyday colours looking natural.
The bulb measures 77 x 45 x 77 mm and weighs just 18g, running on 220 to 240V AC mains through the E27 cap with no separate driver or transformer needed. It is rated at 96 lm/W with a 15,000 hour lifespan, and is a non-dimmable lamp, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. Rated IP20, it is for dry indoor use only. This bulb sits alongside other caps and shapes in our LED bulb range.

Frequently Asked
What fitting does this bulb use?
It has an E27 Edison Screw cap, also known as ES, which is the standard large screw fitting. Simply screw it into any E27 holder. It will not fit smaller E14 (SES) or bayonet holders.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
At 4.9W and 470 lumens it gives roughly the same light as a 40W incandescent golf ball bulb. The LED itself only draws 4.9W, so it uses a fraction of the energy for a similar brightness.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb. Use it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer circuit, as fitting it to a dimmer can cause flicker or buzzing.
What does cool white look like in a room?
At 4000K it is a clean, neutral white, brighter and crisper than a warm yellow tone but not as blue as daylight. It suits kitchens, studies and task areas where you want clear, functional light.
