Description
This is a golf ball LED bulb on an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap, built in the compact G45 shape that suits smaller fittings where a full-size GLS bulb would look bulky. It draws just 3.8 W yet gives out 806 lumens, putting it on a par with an old 60 W bulb for output while using a fraction of the power. The light is a 2700K warm white with an Ra 80 colour rendering, and a wide 320 degree beam spreads it evenly rather than throwing it in one direction. In US terms this is a small round bulb on a standard E27 medium screw base.
Being a golf ball form, it works well in chandeliers, wall brackets, pendant clusters and smaller table lamps around the home, anywhere the bulb itself stays partly on show. The warm 2700K tone keeps living rooms, bedrooms and hallways relaxed in the evening, and the 320 degree spread means a single bulb lights a space generously rather than spotlighting one spot. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location. Several open fittings together will share the load comfortably given how little each bulb pulls.
The clear glass envelope shows the visible LED filaments inside, giving the warm, vintage look of an old wire-filament bulb without the running cost. The bulb measures 45 mm across and 78 mm long and weighs only 20 g, so it sits easily in delicate fittings. Rated for 50,000 hours and reaching 212 lm/W, it should run for years before needing a swap. Note that this bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer circuit. We stock matching filament shapes in other caps across the range if you want a consistent look throughout a fitting.

Frequently Asked
What fitting does this bulb need?
It has an E27 Edison Screw cap, also known as ES, which is the standard larger screw fitting found on many UK pendants, lamps and brackets. You twist it clockwise into the holder until snug. If your fitting takes the smaller SES screw or a bayonet cap, this bulb will not fit.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
It replaces a traditional 60 W incandescent bulb while drawing only 3.8 W itself. The 806 lumen output is what matches that 60 W brightness, so you get the same light for far less energy. The bulb itself never pulls anything like 60 W.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb, so it should be used on a standard on/off switch. Fitting it on a dimmer circuit can cause flicker, buzzing or a shortened life. If you need dimming, choose a bulb listed as dimmable instead.
Why does it have a clear glass look?
It is a filament LED bulb, so the diodes are arranged as visible filaments behind clear glass to mimic the warm glow of an old wire-filament bulb. This makes it well suited to open and decorative fittings where the bulb is on view. The effect is purely cosmetic and does not affect the 806 lumen output.
