Description
This E27 LED bulb takes the compact G45 golf ball shape, a small rounded form that suits fittings where a full-size household bulb sits too large. It screws into the standard E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap, known in US terms as a medium screw base. Drawing just 3.4 W, it puts out 470 lumens of 2700K warm white light, and its wide 150 degree beam spreads that output evenly rather than throwing it in one direction. The colour rendering sits at Ra 90, so colours read accurately under it.
The golf ball shape works well in pendants, wall fittings, chandeliers and smaller table lamps where a neat bulb is wanted on show or behind a shade. Its 470 lumen output and soft 2700K tone make it a comfortable choice for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways where warm, relaxed light is preferred over bright task lighting. The 150 degree spread fills a fitting and lights the surrounding area gently rather than focusing on a single spot, so it reads as a soft ambient source. Being rated IP20, it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept out of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp setting.
At 3.4 W the bulb replaces a 40 W old incandescent golf ball while using a fraction of the energy, helped by an efficiency of 138 lm/W. It is rated for 25,000 hours and runs on 220 to 240 V AC mains, so no separate transformer is needed. Note that this bulb is non-dimmable, so it should be used on a standard non-dimmed circuit. It measures Ø45 by 77 mm in a white finish and weighs 20 g. Our wider E27 range covers other shapes and tones if a different look is needed.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this bulb need?
It has an E27 cap, also called Edison Screw or ES, which is the larger of the two common screw fittings. It simply screws into any E27 holder. The golf ball G45 shape keeps it compact for smaller fittings and shades.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
The LED draws only 3.4 W itself but gives the light output of a 40 W old incandescent golf ball, around 470 lumens. You get the same brightness for a small fraction of the energy use.
Is it warm or cool light?
It is a warm white bulb at 2700K, giving a soft, relaxed tone that suits living rooms, bedrooms and hallways. With a colour rendering of Ra 90, colours and skin tones look natural under it.
Can it be dimmed?
No, this bulb is non-dimmable, so it should be fitted on a standard non-dimmed circuit rather than a dimmer switch. Using it on a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its life. It is rated for 25,000 hours in normal use.
