Description
This E27 GLS LED bulb has the classic rounded A60 household shape, with visible LED filaments behind clear glass for a vintage look. It draws just 4.5 W while producing 470 lumens, so it stands in for an old 40 W incandescent bulb at a fraction of the running cost. The light is a 2700K warm white with an Ra 80 colour rendering, and the 320 degree beam spreads almost all the way around the bulb rather than throwing in one direction. In the US this Edison Screw fitting is the familiar A19-style screw bulb, here on the larger E27 (ES) cap.
Because the output radiates across a wide 320 degree spread, the bulb suits open and exposed fittings where the lamp itself is on show, such as pendants, table and floor lamps, wall fittings and fabric or open-frame shades. The warm 2700K tone keeps living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining spaces relaxed and inviting rather than clinical, and the filament detailing reads well in any fitting that leaves the bulb visible. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location. For task-bright corners you would pair several in a multi-lamp fitting rather than rely on a single bulb.
The bulb measures 60 mm in diameter by 105 mm long and weighs 30 g, running on 220 to 240 V AC at an efficiency of 104 lm/W. It is rated for 15,000 hours of use and is non-dimmable, so it should be run from a standard on/off circuit rather than a dimmer switch. The clear transparent glass shows off the filament arrangement, finishing in a warm white tone. This bulb sits within our wider E27 LED range, which includes other shapes and outputs on the same cap.

Frequently Asked
What fitting does this bulb use?
It uses an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap, the larger screw-in fitting common on pendants, table lamps and many ceiling fittings. Simply screw it into any E27 holder. It will not fit smaller E14 (SES) or bayonet holders.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
The bulb draws only 4.5 W itself but gives 470 lumens, which is roughly the brightness of an old 40 W incandescent bulb. You get the same familiar warm white light for a small fraction of the energy use.
Can I use it on a dimmer switch?
No, this bulb is non-dimmable and should be run from a standard on/off circuit. Fitting it to a dimmer can cause flicker, buzzing or shorten its life, so use it where full brightness is wanted.
Is it suitable for outdoor or bathroom use?
No, it is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, garages and any outdoor or damp location, and use a suitably rated fitting in those areas instead.
