E27 (ES) LED R80 Bulb 7.3W 806lm - Cool White 4000K

An R80 reflector bulb with an E27 screw cap, the larger of the two Edison threads used on British ceiling fittings and table lamps. The R80 code describes the glass: a front face 80mm across with a deep bowl behind it, so the light is pushed forward instead of scattering in every direction. It draws 7.3W and gives 806 lumens at 4000K, a cool white that sits between the yellow of 2700K and the blue of a 6500K daylight lamp. The frosted face widens and softens the beam to 110 degrees.

That wide beam is what makes a reflector useful over a working surface. It suits recessed or surface mounted E27 spots above a kitchen run, a utility room, a garage or a workshop bench, and display fittings where a shelf needs to be lit rather than the whole room. At 4000K whites stay white and printed labels and small parts are easy to read, which is why cool white tends to be chosen for work areas and warm white for bedrooms and sitting rooms. Before ordering, check the cap on the bulb you are replacing: E27 is a screw thread about 27mm across, not a two pin bayonet.

This bulb is not dimmable. Fit it on a plain on and off switch, because a non-dimming LED left on a dimmer circuit will usually flicker or buzz and can fail long before its time. The energy label puts it in class E at 8 kWh per 1000 hours, and the pack prints a 60W replacement figure and a 15,000 hour life. Its IP20 rating means indoor, dry positions only, away from splashing. Will this fit my existing light fitting?

It fits any lampholder that takes an E27 screw cap, sometimes marked ES. Unscrew the old bulb and check the thread measures roughly 27mm across rather than having two bayonet pins.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. It is not dimmable, so it needs a plain on and off switch. On a dimmer circuit a non-dimming LED will typically flicker or buzz and its life will be shortened.

What does cool white 4000K look like in the room?

It is a clean, neutral white with none of the yellow cast of 2700K warm white and none of the blue edge of 6500K daylight. Whites read as white and small print stays legible.

Which old bulb does it replace?

How wide is the light spread?

The beam angle is 110 degrees, so it covers a broad pool rather than a tight spot. That makes it a better fit for general downlighting than for picking out a single object.
