E27 (ES) LED Candle Bulb 7.3W 806lm - Warm White 3000K

This is a candle bulb with an E27 screw cap, the larger of the two screw fittings used on UK light fittings, and it runs on LED rather than filament. It draws 7.3W and gives 806 lumens, a figure the retail pack puts level with a 60W conventional bulb, so it is one of the brighter candle bulbs in this shape. The envelope is white and diffused rather than clear, so the light spreads instead of picking out the diodes inside, and the stated beam angle of 280 degrees sends light sideways and downwards as well as up.

E27 candle bulbs belong in chandeliers, candelabra and multi-arm pendants where the holders point upwards and part of the bulb is on show, and in wall lights or table lamps with narrow shades that a round bulb would not clear. Check the old bulb before you order: E27 measures 27mm across the thread, while E14 measures 14mm and will not fit the same holder. At 3,000K the light reads as a warm white with a little more crispness than a 2,700K bulb, which suits a living room, a landing or a hallway where you want warmth without yellowness.

There is no dimming on this one: the specification records it as non-dimmable, so pair it with a plain on/off switch and keep it away from a dimmer circuit, where a non-dimmable LED can flicker or buzz. Can I put it on a dimmer switch?
