E27 (ES) LED Candle Bulb 7.3W 806lm Non-Dimmable - Daylight 6500K

This is a candle bulb with a large E27 screw cap, the wider of the two screw fittings used on household lamps. It draws 7.3W and gives back 806 lumens, which the pack puts level with a 60W conventional candle bulb. The light is 6500K daylight, the coolest and cleanest of the white tones, a long way from the yellow of an old filament lamp. The body is white rather than clear, so the diodes inside are not visible as bright points, and light leaves it across a 280 degree spread rather than being pushed in one direction.

Check the cap on the bulb you are replacing before you order. The number in a screw fitting is the thread diameter in millimetres, so E27 measures 27mm across and will not thread into the E14 holder found in many smaller candle fittings. E27 candle bulbs turn up in older chandeliers, multi-arm pendants and wall lights where the maker used the larger holder to take a bigger lamp. Only where the holder takes an E27 screw cap. Plenty of candle fittings use the smaller E14 screw or a B15 bayonet instead, so look at the cap on the old bulb first.

How bright is 806 lumens in practice?

The pack rates it as the equal of a 60W conventional candle bulb, which is bright for a candle lamp and usually plenty on its own in a small room or in pairs on a multi-arm fitting.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The specification records it as non dimmable, so it wants a plain on and off circuit. Where the switch is a dimmer, choose a lamp that states it is rated for dimming.

What does 6500K daylight look like beside a warm white bulb?

Much cooler and whiter, with a faint blue cast rather than the yellow of warm white. It shows colours accurately, which is why it suits working areas more than relaxing ones.
