Description

This E27 globe light bulb takes the large G125 spherical form, a 125 mm clear glass globe lit by visible LED filaments for a vintage glow. It draws just 7 W for 725 lumens at 104 lm/W, giving a soft warm white at 2500K with a wide 320 degree spread. The E27 Edison Screw cap (ES) fits the standard large screw fitting found across UK pendants and lamps. American buyers will know the E27 base as the standard medium screw fitting, and at this size the bulb reads as a decorative globe rather than a household A-shape.

Because the 7 W draw replaces a 55 W old bulb while keeping the warm filament look, this globe suits open pendants, exposed fittings and table or floor lamps where the bulb itself is on show. The 2500K tone is a low, cosy warm white that works over dining tables, in hallways and in living room corners rather than as bright task light. With a 320 degree beam the light reaches outward in almost every direction, so it lights a space evenly as ambient or decorative light rather than throwing a focused beam. Rated IP20, it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept away from bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp position.

The bulb measures Ø125 by 178 mm and weighs 104 g, running on 220 to 240 V AC mains through the E27 cap with no transformer needed. The clear amber glass shows off the LED filaments inside, and colour rendering sits at Ra 80 for natural enough tones in a decorative setting. It is rated for around 15,000 hours of use. Note this is a non-dimmable bulb, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer circuit. This globe sits within our wider range of E27 filament bulbs in several shapes and tones.

Frequently Asked

Which fitting does this bulb need?

It uses an E27 Edison Screw cap, known as ES, which is the standard large screw fitting on UK pendants and lamps. American buyers will recognise E27 as the standard medium screw base. Simply screw it into any E27 holder.

What old bulb wattage does it replace?

The LED itself draws only 7 W but gives 725 lumens, replacing a 55 W traditional bulb. You get the same warm output for a fraction of the energy use, with a rated life of around 15,000 hours.

Can this bulb be dimmed?

No, this is a non-dimmable bulb, so it should be used on a standard on/off switch. Fitting it on a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or buzzing and may shorten its life. Choose a dimmable lamp if you need adjustable brightness.

Why is the light such a warm tone?

It runs at 2500K, a low warm white that gives a soft, cosy amber glow well suited to decorative and relaxed settings. The visible LED filaments inside the clear glass add to the vintage look. Colour rendering is Ra 80 for natural enough tones.
