Description

This is a long, slim tube of clear glass on a small screw cap, the sort of lamp meant to be looked at rather than hidden. It draws 6W and returns 500 lumens, and the light is a cool white with no yellow in it. Light leaves the tube all the way round, so the glass glows along its whole length. It dims, given a dimmer suited to LED lamps, and no dimmer comes with it.

We reach for a lamp like this where the fitting leaves the glass on show: open lantern wall lights, tall picture lights, and multi-arm fittings with upward-facing holders. At 280mm it is a tall lamp, so it wants a fitting with height to give and will look cramped inside a small shade. The cool white tone suits kitchens, hallways and work corners, where a warmer lamp can feel heavy.
