Description

This is a golf ball bulb, the small round shape that sits between a candle and a full sized GLS, made to fill a shade without crowding it. It draws 3W and gives 250 lumens, and the cap is E14, the smaller of the two screw fittings, marked SES on some old bulbs and in fitting instructions. The colour temperature is 2,700K warm white, the yellow leaning tone people expect from an old filament lamp rather than the whiter light of an office. The pack states that it replaces a 25W incandescent bulb, and the opal outer softens the diode behind it so a thin shade shows a diffused glow rather than bright points.

The E14 cap turns up most often on multi arm chandeliers, wall lights, small pendants and bedside lamps, so these are usually bought several at a time to fill one fitting. The 180 degree beam angle throws light sideways as well as forward, which suits an open or upward facing shade better than a narrow spot would. If you are unsure which cap you have, the number is the thread diameter in millimetres: an E14 measures 14mm across and the more common E27 measures 27mm, and the two will not swap.

Yes. SES stands for small Edison screw, which is the same fitting as E14, so a holder marked either way takes this bulb.
