A pack of four 9V alkaline cells from Duracell's Plus Power range, carrying the codes 6LR61 and MN1604. The 9V is the small rectangular cell, usually called a PP3, with both terminals on one top face: a stud and a socket that a clip pushes onto. Inside, a 9V alkaline cell is six 1.5V cells wired in series, which is why it feels heavier than its footprint suggests. Alkaline is the everyday chemistry for this size, and it is a primary cell: once flat it is replaced rather than recharged.
