Description

This is a Duracell CR2032 lithium coin cell, supplied two to a blister pack. The number is the size rather than a model name: in the standard coin cell naming, 2032 means a cell 20mm across and 3.2mm thick, so any device that asks for a 2032 will take this one. The chemistry is lithium, which gives a nominal 3 volts from a single cell rather than the 1.5 volts an alkaline cell of the same shape gives. The pack also prints the code DL/CR 2032, so a manual naming a DL2032 is naming this same cell.

A 2032 is the cell small electronics reach for when they need a steady, low current over a long stretch rather than a short burst of power. Car key fobs, remote controls, kitchen and luggage scales, digital thermometers, fitness trackers, door and window sensors, calculators and the backup cell on a computer motherboard all commonly take one. It is worth prising the old cell out and reading it before you order, because a 2025 and a 2016 share the same 20mm diameter and sit in the same holder while being thinner. If the number printed on the old cell reads 2032, this is the direct replacement.

Each pack holds two cells, so a spare stays in the drawer for next time. The pack is marked Baby Secure pack and battery and carries a keep out of reach of children warning, so keep the card sealed until the second cell is needed. Coin cells of this size should be kept well away from small children and taken to a battery recycling point once flat.
