Description

The Duracell CR2016 is a 3V lithium coin cell battery, 20mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick, supplied in a pack of two. Lithium chemistry gives the CR2016 a higher energy density than alkaline button cells of similar size, allowing it to maintain stable voltage output across a longer service life in low-drain devices.

CR2016 batteries power car key fobs, remote controls, watches, calculators, fitness trackers, glucose monitors and other compact electronics that require a flat, lightweight power source. The 3V nominal voltage suits devices designed specifically for lithium coin cells rather than 1.5V alkaline equivalents. Duracell CR2016 cells carry a shelf life of up to 10 years when stored at room temperature, making them suitable for spares and emergency replacements.

Each blister pack contains two individual batteries sealed in child-resistant packaging that meets international safety standards. The lithium cells are manufactured to IEC standards and are compatible with any device specifying CR2016, DL2016 or ECR2016 battery types. The 2-pack format provides one immediate replacement and one spare without requiring bulk purchases.

Frequently Asked

What devices use CR2016 batteries?

CR2016 batteries are commonly found in car key fobs, watches, calculators, fitness trackers, glucose monitors, remote controls and small electronic toys. Any device marked with CR2016, DL2016 or ECR2016 on the battery compartment accepts this cell size.

Can I use CR2016 instead of CR2032?

No. While both are 20mm in diameter and deliver 3V, the CR2032 is 3.2mm thick and the CR2016 is only 1.6mm thick. A CR2016 will not make contact in a CR2032 compartment, and forcing a CR2032 into a CR2016 slot will damage the device.

How long do CR2016 batteries last?

Shelf life is up to 10 years when stored at room temperature. In-device life depends on the power draw of the specific device — a watch may run for 2-3 years on a single CR2016, while a car key fob used frequently may need replacement after 1-2 years.

Are these batteries rechargeable?

No. CR2016 lithium coin cells are single-use primary batteries and cannot be recharged. Attempting to recharge them can cause leakage, overheating or rupture.
