Description

The Duceri is a 3W LED emergency exit sign bulkhead with an IP65 rating, built around a white polycarbonate housing that measures 362mm wide by 117mm high. A lithium battery inside provides backup power during mains failure, keeping the green illuminated exit legend visible for the minimum statutory duration required by UK emergency lighting regulations. The unit can be configured as maintained (permanently lit) or non-maintained (illuminated only on mains failure) depending on the installation requirement.

Designed for commercial, industrial and public buildings where IP65 environmental protection is required, the Duceri suits car parks, loading bays, factory floors, outdoor covered walkways and wet areas such as commercial kitchens or washdown zones. The IP65 rating provides protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for regular washdown environments. The bulkhead mounts to wall or ceiling surfaces and the polycarbonate diffuser protects the LED array and legend panel from impact.

The Duceri includes multiple interchangeable legend inserts in the box, allowing the installer to select the appropriate directional arrow (left, right, up, down) or no-arrow running man pictogram required by the specific exit location. The white housing pairs neutrally with most commercial interiors and the green legend meets the international ISO 7010 standard for emergency exit signage. At 0.82kg net weight the fitting is light enough for single-person ceiling installation on standard fixing centres.

What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained mode?

Maintained mode keeps the sign illuminated at all times, drawing from mains power. Non-maintained mode only illuminates the sign when mains power fails, running from the battery. The Duceri can be configured as either during installation depending on the specific requirements of the building and the local fire officer's preferences.

How long does the battery last during a power cut?

The lithium battery provides backup illumination for a minimum of 3 hours during mains failure, which meets UK Building Regulations Approved Document B requirements for most commercial premises. Actual duration depends on the battery condition and ambient temperature.

What legend options are included?

The Duceri ships with multiple interchangeable legend inserts showing the running man pictogram with directional arrows (left, right, up, down) and a no-arrow version. The installer selects the appropriate legend for the exit location and clips it into the front panel during fitting.

Can it be used outdoors?

The IP65 rating makes the Duceri suitable for outdoor use under cover, such as covered walkways, external stairwells and loading bay canopies. It is not rated for full exposure to direct weather without overhead protection.
