Description

The Duceri emergency lighting test switch is a key-activated timer control for testing emergency lighting installations in compliance with BS5266. The unit features a three-digit LCD display showing test duration in minutes, a rotary key selector for choosing between four pre-programmed test intervals (10, 30, 60 and 180 minutes), and an optional audio buzzer that sounds when the test period completes.

Designed for commercial, industrial and public buildings where emergency lighting systems require regular functional testing, the switch mounts on a standard single-gang UK back box and controls lighting loads up to 4A LED, 10A incandescent or 6A fluorescent. The key-activated operation prevents accidental or unauthorised testing, making it suitable for schools, offices, retail premises and hospitality venues where building management staff need to conduct monthly and annual duration tests without interference.

The compact 93mm x 90mm faceplate is manufactured from antimicrobial urea, a thermosetting polymer that inhibits bacterial growth on high-touch surfaces. The white finish integrates cleanly into standard electrical accessory layouts. Operating voltage is 220-240V AC, compatible with UK mains supply. The LCD display remains visible in low light, allowing test operators to monitor progress without needing additional illumination.

Frequently Asked

What test intervals does the switch support?

Four pre-programmed intervals are available: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 180 minutes. The interval is selected by turning the rotary key selector to the required duration before activating the test.

What back box depth is required?

The unit fits a standard single-gang UK back box with 25mm minimum depth. The product depth is 58mm including the key mechanism and rear terminals.

What lighting loads can it control?

The switch is rated for 4A LED loads, 10A incandescent loads or 6A fluorescent loads at 220-240V AC. This covers most emergency lighting installations in commercial and public buildings.

Is the audio buzzer mandatory?

No. The buzzer is optional and can be enabled or disabled depending on the installation requirements. When enabled, it sounds an audible alert when the selected test duration completes, useful in large buildings where the operator may not be monitoring the display constantly.
