Description

The Duceri is a 5W LED non-maintained emergency downlight with a white bezel, open lens and integrated lithium battery backup. Non-maintained operation means the LED only illuminates during mains power failure, providing emergency egress lighting for commercial, retail and public buildings. The 295mm diameter housing contains a single 5W LED module emitting 5500K daylight-white light through an open polycarbonate lens.

Designed for ceiling installation in corridors, stairwells, office spaces and retail areas where emergency lighting is required under UK Building Regulations, the Duceri fits a standard circular ceiling cut-out and connects to the mains supply via the included driver and battery pack. The battery charges continuously when mains power is present and provides emergency illumination for up to three hours during power failure. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments.

The white thermoplastic bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed, with the open lens allowing direct downward light distribution during emergency mode. The lithium battery pack is housed within the driver enclosure behind the ceiling line, making servicing and battery replacement accessible without removing the entire fitting. At 0.42kg net weight the downlight mounts securely to standard plasterboard ceilings with the correct fixings.

Frequently Asked

What does non-maintained mean?

Non-maintained emergency lighting only illuminates during mains power failure. During normal operation the LED remains off, and the battery charges continuously. When mains power is lost the battery activates the LED automatically to provide emergency egress lighting for up to three hours.

What ceiling cut-out size is required?

The downlight requires a circular ceiling cut-out to accommodate the 295mm diameter housing. Refer to the installation manual in the Downloads tab for the exact cut-out diameter and minimum ceiling void depth needed to house the driver and battery pack.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoor canopies?

No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is only suitable for dry indoor environments with no moisture exposure. For bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas an IP44 or IP65 rated emergency downlight is required.

How is the battery replaced?

The lithium battery pack is housed within the driver enclosure behind the ceiling line. Battery replacement requires accessing the driver from the ceiling void side without removing the entire downlight fitting. Replacement intervals and part numbers are detailed in the product manual.
