Description
The Duceri 3W LED Self-Test Exit Box is a maintained emergency exit sign with an integrated up arrow legend, housed in a white powder-coated steel box measuring 390 x 190 x 60mm. The sign uses SMD 2835 LEDs at 5500K colour temperature, providing a daylight-white light output visible from up to 25 metres in clear conditions. A self-test function automatically checks the battery and LED operation at regular intervals, logging faults via a green LED indicator on the front panel.
Designed for corridors, stairwells and commercial exit routes requiring BS EN 60598-2-22 and BS EN 62034 compliance, the box mounts to a wall surface and connects to mains power, switching to battery backup during power cuts. The 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery provides three hours of emergency duration, meeting UK building regulation requirements for most non-domestic premises. The maintained mode keeps the sign illuminated at all times, with charge and discharge protection circuits extending battery lifespan.
The white steel housing suits both contemporary and institutional interiors where a clean, unobtrusive finish is needed. The box weighs 1.32kg net (1.57kg gross) and fits directly onto plasterboard or masonry surfaces using standard wall fixings. The up arrow legend directs building occupants towards exits located above the sign position, typically used at the base of stairs or in ground-floor corridors where the exit route leads upwards.

Frequently Asked
What does the self-test function do?
The self-test circuit automatically checks the battery charge level and LED function at pre-set intervals. If a fault is detected, the green LED indicator on the front panel changes state to alert maintenance staff. This removes the need for manual testing schedules in many installations.
What's the difference between maintained and non-maintained mode?
Maintained mode keeps the sign illuminated continuously when connected to mains power, switching to battery backup during power cuts. Non-maintained mode only illuminates the sign when mains power is lost. This unit operates in maintained mode.
How long does the battery last in an emergency?
The 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery provides three hours of emergency illumination from a full charge. UK building regulations typically require a minimum of three hours for most non-domestic premises.
What does the up arrow legend indicate?
The up arrow directs building occupants towards exits located above the sign position. This is typically used at the base of staircases or in ground-floor corridors where the exit route leads upwards to a final exit on an upper level.
