Description
The Duceri is a 3W LED non-maintained emergency downlight with integrated self-test function and a rechargeable lithium battery backup. The fitting operates as a standard mains-powered LED downlight during normal operation and automatically switches to battery power during mains failure, providing emergency illumination for evacuation routes, stairwells and exit points in commercial and residential buildings.
The non-maintained configuration means the LED only illuminates during power cuts or when manually tested — it does not run continuously. The self-test function runs automatic checks on the battery and LED module at programmed intervals, identifying faults without manual intervention and reducing maintenance requirements in compliance with BS 5266-1. The open lens design provides unobstructed 5500K daylight white output across a 90° beam angle.
The fitting measures 200mm x 90mm with a 45mm recess depth, fitting standard ceiling cut-outs for LED downlights. The white polymer bezel integrates flush with plasterboard ceilings once installed. The lithium battery charges from mains power when the circuit is energised and provides a minimum 3-hour emergency run time on full discharge. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor applications.
Installation requires connection to both a permanent mains supply and a switched lighting circuit, allowing the fitting to charge continuously while responding to mains interruption. The emergency driver module and battery pack sit within the ceiling void above the LED module, accessed via the bezel for battery replacement after the rated cycle life.

Frequently Asked
What does non-maintained mean?
Non-maintained means the LED only illuminates during a mains power failure or when manually tested. It does not operate as a permanent light fitting during normal use — the battery power is reserved for emergencies only.
How does the self-test function work?
The fitting automatically runs programmed tests on the battery charge level and LED function at set intervals, typically monthly and annually. Faults are indicated by a status LED on the bezel, reducing the need for manual testing and ensuring compliance with BS 5266-1.
What is the emergency run time?
The lithium battery provides a minimum 3-hour run time on full discharge, meeting standard emergency lighting requirements for evacuation routes and exit points.
Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor areas away from direct water exposure.
