Description

This Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket provides both 115V and 230V outputs behind a matt black rounded-edge steel faceplate. The socket is designed for bathroom installation, supplying power to electric shavers, toothbrushes and other grooming appliances that may require either voltage standard.

Rated IP41, the socket offers protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and vertically falling water droplets, making it suitable for bathroom zones where direct water spray is not present. The socket must be installed in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations for bathroom electrical installations. The 47mm minimum back box depth requirement accommodates the transformer and dual voltage output mechanism housed behind the faceplate.

The matt black finish is a low-sheen powder-coated steel that resists fingerprints and bathroom moisture better than gloss finishes. The rounded-edge design sits 7.5mm proud of the wall once fitted, with edges radiused to soften the profile against tiled or painted surfaces. A built-in gasket between the faceplate and back box creates a seal that prevents moisture ingress during installation and use. The socket is certified to EN 61558 for transformer safety and carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

The IP41 rating means the socket is suitable for Zone 2 and outside zones in a bathroom, where it is protected from direct water spray. It must not be installed in Zone 0 (inside a bath or shower) or Zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower to a height of 2.25m).
